Doggie Calm Tips 🐶 for Holidays—from Fireworks 🎆 to Frost

🐾 Calm Vibes Only

Labor Day is all about rest, reflection, and backyard joy—but for our furry companions, it can also bring heat, noise, and a whole lot of overstimulation. Whether you’re hosting a cookout, hitting the road, or just soaking up the last rays of summer, here are five easy ways to help your pup stay cool, calm, and collected.

1️⃣ Create a “Cool Zone”

Set up a shaded, quiet space indoors with a cooling mat or memory foam bed. Dogs feel the seasonal shift too, and a cozy nap spot away from the action helps them decompress. Bonus points for adding a favorite toy or blanket that smells like home.

2️⃣ Hydration Station

Keep multiple bowls of fresh water around the house and yard. Add ice cubes for a little flair, or try frozen “pupsicles” made with peanut butter and blueberries. Hydration is non-negotiable—especially during cookouts and playtime.

3️⃣ Calm-Down Playlist

Soft music or white noise can soothe anxious pups during fireworks or loud gatherings. Try a “Doggie Zen” playlist or even a fan running in the background. Our big pup Bentley loves patio jazz, while our Pom Rocky prefers spa sounds with a side of sass.

4️⃣ Safe Snacking

Skip the ribs and corn cobs—these BBQ favorites can be dangerous for dogs. Instead, offer dog-safe treats like carrot sticks, frozen banana bites, or a PawTree-approved chew. Keep the grill area gated and the garbage bins sealed tight.

5️⃣ Travel with Comfort

If you’re road-tripping, pack a familiar bed, collapsible bowls, and a favorite toy. Plan breaks every 2–3 hours for sniffing, stretching, and potty time. A crash-tested harness or dog car seat adds safety and peace of mind.

🐾 Tu Casa Tip: Bentley’s Calm Code (Party Prep Edition)

Bentley’s Labor Day mantra—“Cool bed. Full bowl. No drama.”—works year-round, but Halloween? That’s a whole different howl. Loud noises, flashing lights, and costumed strangers can trigger anxiety in even the chillest pups.

That’s why we recommend starting a calming routine now, so your dog is prepped and peaceful by the time we roll out our next party—Halloween! PawTree’s Keep ‘Em Calm chews are a gentle, vet-formulated way to build that calm over time.

Start now, and by Halloween your pup will be ready to greet trick-or-treaters with a wag—not a whimper. 🎃✨

👀 Look out for Bentley’s adventures on Facebook—he’s got a Pixar-style glow-up coming soon, and trust us, it’s paw-sitively charming.
